A protip is like a tiny tutorial. Now, this is very subjective, so use your best judgement (lol). Something short and to the point like PROTIP: USE GIGALOADER is a protip, while a long drawn out set of instructions on doing something would be a tutorial. Furthermore, protips can also simply be small bits of information, and don't necessary have to be instructions.
