Consider omitting the word "Fag" in giant capital letters (a la "NYCFAGS, MIAMIFAGS, LONDONFAGS, ect.), lest those who stumble upon it mistake it for a gathering of homosexuals. It won't exactly appeal to the church groups we're trying to attract, either. If you happen to believe that homosexuality is OK and are protesting in a city with people who believe likewise, then you should bring posters & other propaganda that push the Church's anti-gay doctrines and its claims to "cure" homosexuals. Points to consider for recruiting church-folk: Regular people dont know about the OTIII space opera crap which says all religions are a lie implanted by Xenu. The majority of Scientologists themselves don't know this, because they lack the cash to IRL grind their way to OTIII, but it's all there in the dox. Also, the Scientology "cross" is in reality, a rip-off of Alaster Crowley's "crossed out" satanist cross, which by extension, makes Scientology a satanist organization. Whether you are religious or not, the Scientology "tech" is a method for possessing souls in the most literal sense.

If you live in an area where rain is likely, take your posters to a copy shop (e.g. Kinko's) and get them laminated.

Wallpaper glue is considered vandalism, tape only please (however spray glue is not considered vandalism especially if it's being put onto already existing posters and flyers). I spoke to Jeff (Woods?) about our protest on Sunday. A few plain clothes phx police officers are going to be at our protest to make sure everything goes smoothly.

Regarding picket signs, there's no law about having a certain sized handle on your sign, it's not regarded as a weapon. Feel free to put a handle on your sign if you want to.

Along with not impeding traffic on the sidewalks, we also cannot block a driveway. This isn't a big deal on the 7th st. side of the building, but the Indian School side has three or so driveways. An officer will just ask you to move over if we do block a driveway.

Filming people is completely allowed as we are going to be on public property. The officer I spoke to recommended that if we wanted to get a good overview of the whole protest that we set up a camera across the street.

We don't need a permit regardless of the number of people who show up.

The scienos have do not have much staff (it's a little 2-room place and they share the building with a thrift store) but rumors say one of them is high-level. They may not try to goad us much or at all, but be wary of it nevertheless - it's possible they will call in for OSA reinforcements from the much larger Phoenix establishment.

IMPORTANT:

Disguise your face. Wear a mask if you like, or use things like hats, scarfs, and sunglasse. Wear a suit or dress nicely if you can.

Do NOT park anywhere close. Walk or take a bus if you can - see http://www.suntran.com/ for transit infoes. If you must drive to the protest, park in the residential areas nearby where you can more easily see if you're being followed.

Comply politely with police.

Stay on sidewalk across the street, do not trespass on private/business property, do not block driveways or sidewalks.

Remain peaceful and do not create any manner of public nuisance.

We want to be seen as rational adults with a legitimate complaint, not some lunatic internet fringe group. And we sure as hell don't want to be arrested or followed home by scifags.

I checked this COS church out yesterday since it's a few minutes from my house, and it turns out it's just some dumpy hole-in-the-wall place with "dianetics" on a tiny little sign. It looks like it's above an antique store or something, and odds are that if anyone protests there, it will be a total waste of anon-power. Skip.

Los Angeles anons should consider a followup raid in Hemet. While a lot of bureaucracy and brainwashing goes on in Clearwater, the actual international headquarters of the church are located at Golden Era, Hubbard's estate northeast of Hemet. That's where David Miscavige and several other execs live and work, and where the church produces its propaganda.

You should not protest at Gold. Staying in Hemet offers better police protection and visibility. You will need intel. Gold employees (slaves) are said to live in apartments somewhere in Hemet. Where are they, and what route do their shuttles take in and out of the city? It would be impressive to line that route with pickets. All warnings on the Clearwater protest apply here. If the church can ID and harrass you, it will.

Be aware of the laws mentioned at the top of the California section. Call the Hemet police and find out laws on pickets, masks, etc. and request their presence. Do not block the shuttles. Keep in mind that people who work at Gold have it hard. They do not have any internet access at all. Your message must be positive and constructive. You must communicate that there is more to life than cranking out propaganda for no pay. Encourage the slaves to walk away and call a friend or relative.

It's a one story building. The front door faces 15th street. There is a back door into their parking lot in the alley off 15th street.

Their probable "handler" of you will be a douchebag named Mike Klagenburg. He's short and dumpy with brown hair and glasses and in his late 40s.

They are known to follow you back to your vehicles. They are known to join you with counter-picket signs. It is wise to speak of OT materials and info i.e. Xenu, Incident 1, Incident 2 etc this will make them run away if they are not OTs, which also works with the people coming in and out of the building and what is on any picket signs. (NOTE: [b]The above sentence is not inline with current recommendations[/b], advise against unless your in realtrouble) The next wave they send out will be OTs. When the picket is over the best way to ditch them is through the state capitol as there are lots of govt workers etc. If that doesn't work, go to L street and catch a cab to your cars, as they are typically following you on foot.

Be prepared to have several staff and/or public take your photos repeatedly and every time they are taking your photos they will have someone simultaneously videotaping from another vantage point. If you want to get them on camera doing all this there is an 8 floor parking garage/structure with day parking on the corner of H and 15th with a clear view of the front of the building and any of the surrounding areas including their parking lot. Be aware that the art gallery on 15th street just past I St on the right is a Scieno-owned business with some mid-level OT public. The sidewalks across the streets on all three sides from the corner are better for pickets as it is harder for them to tell you to leave and easier to see who is coming from the church toward you. Be aware that if you are a man, they will send a pretty woman, and if you are a woman they will send a handsome man to speak to you. And lastly, they can be very aggressive i.e. asking for your "crimes", "are you a child molester" don't give them any personal info etc.

To the south is the Memorial Auditorium which encompasses one square block. The street in front of the Memorial Auditorium, J Street, is a MAJOR thoroughfare. There are quite often peaceful demonstrations like this one on the corner there at 16th and J and will get major attention from a lot of cars if some or all of you use that spot at any point. (Think "Revoke Scientology IRS Status Now", "Scientology is a Business", and "Scientology Silences Opposition" placards for maximum impact.) Please don't attack their religion, we're going after the entity of the CoS as a corrupt business. Also I would humbly recommend red letters on yellow poster board as this will be immediately recognizable as relating to the church as these are the colors they use.

15th Street is a one way street heading south, I street is a one way street heading west. J street is a one way street heading east. All three when followed to their ends takes you to a freeway.

As you are facing the church's front door, streets to your left (north) have less people on them so you will get less attention from that direction.

15th street, I street, J street and L street have the most traffic.

I checked with an Anonymous attorney for you and was told that you should remember that it is a public sidewalk. And that State codes are on the web and available. I looked up local ordinances for you, and found the following at http://www.qcode.us/codes/sacramento/

12.48.010 “Parade” defined.

“Parade” means any march, demonstration, procession or event consisting of persons, animals or vehicles or combination thereof upon any public street, sidewalk or alley which does not comply with normal and usual traffic regulation or controls. (Prior code § 38.12.150)

12.48.020 Permit—Application.

A. Any person desiring to conduct a parade, except as provided in Section 12.48.060 of this chapter, shall file an application with the city manager not less than ten (10) days prior to the proposed assembly time for the parade.

... 12.48.030 Permit—Action on application.

A. The city manager shall act on all applications in the following manner: ... For purposes of this section, “free speech rights” means expressive activity protected by the First Amendment of the United States Constitution or Article 1, Section 2 of the California Constitution, provided that such activity is the primary purpose of the event.

B. Exception. Spontaneous parades of seventy-five (75) or fewer participants: Notwithstanding subsection A above, no permit shall be required for spontaneous parades of seventy-five (75) or fewer participants. (Ord. 2004-069 § 3)

It seems reasonable from looking at the above that you're not interfering with traffic and are less than 75 people so you should be covered to do it without a permit, If you stay on a public sidewalk and not in the street you have a right to be there, and carrying a sign is part of your first amendment rights.

Check [the UCSB Daily Nexus] to get an idea of how our first protest went. Signs should say NOTHING about beliefs; try to express the fact that we believe in freedom of religion. All fliers should focus on the church's financial or criminal policies, and (because of the date) Lisa McPherson. The Handlers will pretend to be journalist or curious pedestrians, get copies of all the fliers, and try to use them against us. If you wouldn't say it to your friend's grandmother, don't say it on the handouts.

Our first protest went extremely smoothly because we had police cooperation. This protest will be no different, because we will be the very definition of PEACEFUL. Also, there should be no mentioning of Anonymous. There is nothing to be gained by connecting ourselves with hackers on steroids, and headless black suits don't help educate the public. We will have extra fliers, but if you are printing your own, try to remove any references to Anon.

--Chico law states a permit is needed for Public Assembly (protest) on chico streets, no permit is required if the protest is held in a park. Majority of protest will have to be staged in the park (Downtown Plaza) but we are free to walk around the city as long as traffic laws are obeyed.

Leave all weapons of any kind at home. This is a peaceful protest. Objects which someone could "mistake" for a weapon are also a bad idea to bring.
Wearing masks in Orlando is illegal. The cops WILL come down on you for this. Large sunglasses, wigs, and hats are safe.
Remember that this protest is about the actions of Scientology. We are not here to harass their beliefs or mythos.
Remember Lisa McPherson. The 2/10/2008 protests are in her honor.
Bring and hand out as many fliers as you can. Suggested fliers are found here.
Make any large signs out of soft materials such as cardboard and note or poster board. Long metal or wooden handles are considered weapons.
No alcohol or drugs are allowed. We will not remain anonymous if we're arrested.
Music can be played (boom-boxes preferred)at a moderate level of sound. This will be moderated by 'megaphone'. Rule of thumb: if it sounds loud from two two car lengths away then the scifags can trap the police with their own statutes.

Remember the Stand Your Ground policy, it's useless to our cause but they can use it as free license to attack anyone "threatening" to them.

-Clothing
Wear casual clothing. Baggy jeans and a tee-shirt or button up shirt are recommended.
If you wear any form of identifying clothing please wear clothing which resembles the headless-suit or green-face Anonymous images.
Please wear large, reflective sunglasses and a hat or wig. Cowboy hats work well for hiding your face.
Hoods ARE a banned item along with masks, but facepaint is just as obscuring and quite legal.
Remember to cover up any distinctive marks, tattoos, scars, or unique personal features.
Keep all wallets or identification in front pockets, they're much harder to steal that way.
Bring a change of clothing or towel in case they turn the sprinklers on again.

-Supplies
Bring fliers from here or make your own. We must focus on their crimes and not on their beliefs or myths.
Bring boom-boxes. If it's loud from two car-lengths away then it's too loud. Suggested music: Anything retro, rickroll, whatwhat, chocolate rain, little girls. Avoid pirated music, the scifags may decide to try and get the MAFIAA involved.
Pack a lunch or bring drinks. A cooler should be fine. Eat things that wont sit heavily in case you need to run.
Cameras and Camcorders are great! Spy cams and recorders are good choices, small and easy to use.
If you have equipment for a LIVE INTERNETS FEED please bring them. It would make the most perfect lulz.

Anonymous-

We have to take the CoS very seriously. Our Anonymity is key. Therefore, we must treat the Feb 10th protests, and subsequent protests, as though we are going against the FBI themselves. I have a few tips regarding transportation, observation, and general counter-intelligence which will prove very useful in protecting ourselves from the "Church."

[edit] Transportation

1) If you don't live in the town of the protest, park even further away. Our meeting points ARE published and the Scifags know. It is standard procedure to search the following areas for out of town license plates.

2) When you park, park in a smart location. Follow guidelines on the map document and park at random locations outside of the guide. The Orlando location, for instance, is surrounded by food-joints. Do NOT PARK AT ONE. Any out of town plate that is at a restaurant for several hours is obviously out of place. The Scifag intel and PIs are trained to look for these things.

3) If possible, and if you have the funds, park at a large public area where tourists are frequent. In the case of Orlando, Disney world (a 45 minute commute) and Orlando Int'l airport (23 minute commute) are very good place with surveillance in their parking structures. It will be impossible for people to distinguish one out of town plate from another. TAKE ONE BUS TO THE PROTEST, AND TAKE 2 BACK. Even if it takes you way out of the way by 1 town or so, do it. Doing this will make it extremely easy to spot any type of tail (anyone following you). They would either have to follow one bus, wait at the next stop and follow that one, or ride the bus with you.

4) SET UP DROP BOXES. If you are taking photos, film, or audio recordings: The Scifags will not like any type of recording we are doing, and will possibly do anything in their power to recover any videos, pictures, or audio. If they screw up it will intensify the need for that evidence, and they may try legal action to obtain it (even though they really can't). Drop boxes for film can be a simple construction of metal tubing (a few millimeters bigger than a film canister), jb welded with a cone on the bottom, with a cap on top. You would step one of these into the ground (VERY HARD TO FIND) and recover it later if you are pursued. Mark any drop boxes several paces way from your drop box with a Chalk X with a symbol unique to you. You must expect others to be using drop boxes (I will be), and don't want to mix theirs up with yours.

5) REFRAIN FROM PRIVATE DISCUSSION, ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE BRINGING A FRIEND! There WILL be infiltrators. Our strongest features are that we are anonymous, and we are legion. This is also our biggest enemy to our identity. Any Anonymous there is a potential Scifag. He is supporting you, so he is a brother, but never, under any circumstances, discuss any private information. Do not show your ID, and do not make any personal or business phone calls. There very well could be Scifags near by listening to you.

6) If possible, change in/and out of your mask/disguise. Do not do it at a nearby location. It would be best if you're taking 2 buses to do it after the first. Doing so removes a "identifiable characteristic" and makes it safe to transition to your vehicle which is traceable to you.

7) DO NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, BE SEEN ENTERING OR EXITING YOUR VEHICLE. Your tag is easily traceable to you, even if it is a rental. Wait as long as you have to spot and lose any tails. I, personally, have had to wait 4 hours before leaving a location in order to not be traced home.

[edit] Spotting threats

We all must assume that there will be security guards on grounds taking video and still frame. We must also assume that there will be undercover security near our protest, as well as PIs, and maybe armed guards.

TO SPOT (AN) ARMED PERSON(S):

Keep an eye on their clothing. It will be loose fitting. Generally, it is an Hawaiian-style button-up overshirt. Maybe they will wear a wind-breaker or jacket, but in hot tropical locations (Such as Miami, Orlando, LA), a Jacket would be very obvious.

Look at their right hip. They will often stand in a way such as to obstruct the view to their right him. Most people are right handed, and the chances of finding a gun their on an armed guard is VERY likely. Watch to see if their holster. Many will slip up and adjust it in plain sight so it's not easily viewable if it moves out of place (it's Ironic, I know, but they do it).

TO SPOT (AN) UNDERCOVER PERSON(S):

Most undercovers will stand innocently by, as though they are a bystander, but instead of looking in our direction they will look elsewhere a lot to make them incognito. This is a very obvious technique when you look for it. Look for Males (or occasionally females) within a 30 foot vicinity with their head or full body turned away at most times. MOVE OUT OF VIEW IF YOU SUSPECT YOU ARE BEING WATCH. If you are, the person, or another tail, will quickly move into view.

[edit] Counter-Intel

TAKE A LOT OF PICTURES! Take pictures of CoS security, PIs, and general staff. TAKE PICTURES OF PEOPLE YOU SUSPECT ARE TAILS. Any pictorial or video evidence can help in the unlikely event that you are followed and/or harassed at a later time.

TAKE IT UPON YOURSELF TO RECON! Myself and a few others have already, or are preparing to, headed/heading to the location to scout out insertion and extraction points. Taken in-depth note at security, and made generous notes at the surrounding areas. All of these things will help us stay Anonymous. Any knowledge we can have about a location before "going" there is worth gold, no matter how irrelevant it is.

REMEMBER YOUR DROP BOXES! They will be your best friend in case you are pursued.

CHANGE YOUR IDENTITY AFTER LEAVING! Any supplies you bring should be contained in one back-pack with your normal clothes, as well as another backpack. When you change after your first bus change, switch the backpack. Put the original inside the second, with your disguise. You will now have no identifiable clothing or accessories.

-Gameplan
Arrive at 11:00 am CST on February 10, 2008. We are meeting outside of S & G Restaurant, the address of which is below. Promptness would be appreciated so we can all march on the Scifag HQ en masse. At S & G we will distribute gear and media and go over the basics of the protest again. We will have "Hello, my name is" stickers on which you can write your IRC nick, "Anonymous" or whatever. This is totally optional. If we have a good number of anon, we will send some (in groups of no less than 2) to nearby intersections and streets to hold signs and pass out fliers to pedestrians. The rest will do the same outside the HQ. Grouping off is an optional choice for all anon.
Concurrently, the Scifags will be holding their Sunday service inside. When this concludes and Scifags begin to depart, we will call back all anon to HQ. This will be the most intense moment of the protest. They will swarm and we will swarm. They may try to egg you on, yell at you, hit you, etc. DO NOT ESCALATE THE SITUATION. Cameras will be rolling. If you don't feel bold enough to calmly engage them on their brbchurch's horrible practices, simply remain silent or mockingbird everything they say to you. Keep moving; this ain't Habbo. Stagnant protests are illegal on sidewalks. Do not even look like you might be blocking traffic- spread way the fuck out if need be.
After this commotion, we will disperse to a wider area and return to signs and fliers. We will also begin reading dox, playing CDs, videos (if we have them) and starting chants. This will continue on as long as anon is willing to fight, which means no less than 4 hours, but hopefully more. The majority will remain centered around HQ. Coordinators will be attending to wants of groups of anon (if such exist), and you will be given our cell numbers for immediate access (all coordinators are to purchase $20 "throw-away" phones from radio shack or the like with cash, for there may be spies looking to get your digits and track you down). Even still, you will probably be in eyesight of HQ. There are a number of food options around the area- we will be happy to make runs for you if you don't want to leave post, but of course, you can fuck off and grub on your own if you please.

It will probably be mid to high 30s, so warm clothes are a must. Three-piece suits (not clown suits or furfag suits) are HIGHLY ENCOURAGED, and black suit/tie is preferred. Dress to make an impact. Else, a winter gear is fine too. This is important: wear a hat, scarf, and sunglasses if you're nasty. If you want to get crazy, wear a wig to attract attention without looking like too much of an asshole. DO NOT WEAR A V MASK or any other silly mask. We want to look sros, but Scifags may take your picture.

Update: We were expecting 20+ people on the 10th,yet ~50 showed up. Good job guys, keep recruiting. THIS TIME TRY NOT TO HAVE 50% OF THE PROTEST WALK AROUND THE AREA AND GENERALLY SCATTER ABOUT, THAT MAKES IT LOOK LIKE WE HAVE FAR LESS SUPPORT.

BRING YOUR OWN PROPAGANDA AS WE WILL NOT PROVIDE IT!

Regarding Masks: I have been asked this numerous times. The permit office for protests say that masks are illegal in the city, but there has been a case in kentucky say that it is unconstitutional from them to prohibit wearing masks (KKK case). SO MY ADVICE IS WEAR A MASK AT YOUR OWN DISCRETION! Be prepared to take out a pair of sunglasses and a scarf and a hat if the police show up.

UPDATE: KKK COULD ONLY WEAR THEIR HOODS SINCE IT IS PART OF THEIR UNIFORM, WE ARE THINKING OF GETTING ENOUGH MASKS TO MAKE IT OUR UNIFORM.

Also! No drinking or smoking illegal substances before the raid, be smart people, don't ruin it!

Our Rules of engagment

1. Don't do stupid shit- we are not here to give anon a bad name by yelling and screaming and acting like immature college kids. We must be calm, cool, and collected; like the internet hate machine. We are Anonymous.

1. Signage is encouraged- Make posters, do signs, Hell make a t-shirt. Anything goes as long as it's not offensive publicly, remember we are making a statement.

1.Masks are NOT allowed in Kentucky fags- At least according to the lady at the IPS. WEAR A MASK AT YOUR OWN RISK, OR WEAR SOMETHING TO CONCEAL YOUR IDENTITY, otherwise, you won't be anonymous, and we'll have to banish you to ebaum's

1. FOR THOSE OF YOU CONCERNED WITH A PERMIT, GOOD NEWS, WE DON'T NEED ONE, APPARENTLY THE POLICE WERE CONTACTED AND THEY BELIEVE THAT WE WON'T DO ANYTHING DUMB, SO EVERYONE BE ON YOUR BEST BEHAVIOR, WE HAVE THE POLICE ON OUR SIDE!!!!

1. We need truly epic lulz caught on tape- if you have a video camera, bring it (Pro tip: Don't bring anything you're not prepared to drop and run at a moment's notice.

1. Don't flake fags- If you're gonna do it... then do it, don't sign up and then not show up at the last moment, we have power in numbers, just like they do, so if we have more numbers than them, they cannot beat us.

1.No alcohol or weed whatsoever- you show up high or drunk, you will be turned away.

-We may stand on the sidewalk out in front of the building as long as we are not blocking sidewalk traffic, so we must let everyone through who wants through, no block entryways, exits, etc.

-We may NOT touch anyone outside of the group, but we can hand out fliers. IF ANYONE PHYSICALLY HARASSES US, DO NOT TOUCH THEM!!! CALL THE POLICE!!!

-Masks are illegal in the city, according to the IPS lady, wear one at your own risk, be prepared to whip out a pair of shades and a hat.

-SIGNAGE IS ALLOWED AS LONG AS ITS NOT OFFENSIVE!!!
